How Does Opt-in Email Marketing Work?
Visitor Signs Up -> Visitor Gets Information by Email -> Visitor Becomes a Customer!
Opt-in email marketing is really quite simple. Visitors come to your landing page each day, by backlinks you place on the Internet at other websites, directories, related sites, forums, Squidoo, Hub Pages etc.
When a visitor signs up to your mailing list, it's called 'opting-in'. When the visitor opts in, they are giving you permission to send them emails on a periodic, and sometimes daily basis. It's best if these emails are specifically written to tap into the visitor's interests.
Example: I'm an affiliate for BackLink Agent free 3 day video ecourse. I have a opt-in form on the homepage that collects a visitor's name & email address. When the visitor signs up, they receive a email asking them to confirm their email address and asks their permission to send them emails in the future. Once the visitor confirms their email address - they'll become a 'subscriber' to your email marketing.
The subscriber will receive one email per day for 3 days (this is called a 'autoresponder', since I don't actually send the emails - FastReply.info does for me). When the 3rd day is over, I send one more autoresponder that thanks the subscriber for taking my 3 day video ecourse.
Each autoresponder email contains links that drive the visitor back to the BackLink Agent website, via my affiliate link. The goal here is to give the visitor more information to make an informed decision about the product I'm selling - BackLink Agent.
There are other emails that can be sent by FastReply.info - called 'broadcasts'. Broadcasts are one-time emails that are sent on a specific date (set by you). So if you want to send an email every Sunday to your subscriber list, you can set them up ahead of time, or create them weekly. Then FastReply.info will send these emails for you.
Broadcast emails are great ways to promote 'time-specific' products, like holiday related, sport related products, etc.
